OBSTETRIC CARE
Contraception / placing a UIS/UID (coil)
If you think of a coil as contraceptive, this is possible at ELLE. An IUS/IUD can be placed if you have not given birth before, or from 12 weeks after the birth. We first perform a short internal gynaecological examination, focusing on the size and position of the uterus.
The placement itself is done in no time. Immediately after placing an ultrasound is made to see whether the coil is in the right position. After 6 weeks perform an additional ultrasound to make sure there is no expulsion.
