Some complaints are familiar to every pregnant woman and can appear from the first to the last month of pregnancy. For example, fatigue, dizziness, nausea, and heartburn. Fatigue can have various causes during pregnancy, for example, anemia. You can also suffer from fainting, dizziness, and even fainting throughout pregnancy. This can be due to double circulation but is also caused by low blood pressure or anemia.
Many pregnant women experience nausea in the first trimester of pregnancy; it is one of the most common pregnancy complaints. Some women continue to suffer from it throughout pregnancy, called hyperemesis gravidarum. Nausea is often accompanied by heartburn. This is due to the uterus getting bigger and bigger, so there is less space left for your stomach.
During your pregnancy, you can also retain a lot of fluid, up to 3 kilos. More than 80% of women experience this during pregnancy and suffer from edema. This is especially visible in the face, hands, arms, legs, and feet. Drinking plenty of fluids, exercising, and eating little salt helps to reduce this.
'It's a part of it' is what is often said, but it doesn't make it any less fun. Read here about the most famous pregnancy complaints and how to alleviate them.
